Newbie Review by Kathy Swordson Newbie Product Reviewer:
Fans of the Final Fantasy franchise have come to expect the most from the games they love, and in some ways, the Crystal Chronicals fall short. You just can't compare it to the other titles because it is so different. Though there is a single-player option, the game's strongest point is its multi-player mode, which requires a Gameboy Advance to play. The menu is managed on the GBA, which is an innovative way to present a more uncluttered screen. Action is still enjoyable. The only real shortcoming of this game is that it lacks that extra something that made past Final Fantasy titles so excellent.
Pros: Hook-up with the Game Boy Advance is a cool idea. Graphics are nice. Team-play is fun. Combat is handled well. The story-line is pretty interesting. Great new character designs. |
Cons: Just doesn't measure up to other Final Fantasy games. |
