Not quite large enough to be called floorstanders and, to be honest, a little larger than the traditional bookshelf speakers, these Sony speakers could realistically be placed on either. Their 3-way design, which incorporates an 8" woofer, a 3 1/4" mid and a 1" tweeter, gives a peak power of 120 watts. Although they can be used for a home cinema system, their design and musical ability lends them to both cinema and audio applications. This is especially good news for those systems that have to do both. In terms of sound, the speakers are all well matched and offer a good sound right across the frequency range. So if it is superb sound you seek - select the SS-MB350H.
