The Yamaha RX-496 2 Channels Receiver provides 75 watts per channel with low distortion. It delivers enough power to comfortably handle the requirements of most rooms and most speakers. Features: Provides 75 watts per channel with low distortion. 6 Audio Inputs, Two tape Monitors, Pure Direct Switching, Infrared Input/Outputs Variable Loudness Control increases the bass proportionally as the volume is decreased. Has A/B Speaker Selector which allows selection of speakers (A, B or A&B) Linear Damping Factor Circuit: The advantage of full range, 20 to 20000 Hz, damping is that it improves the definition and resolution of the sound output throughout the audible frequency range. Also includes 40-Station Direct Access Preset Tuning.

Pros:

Price, clean sound, speaker connections.

Cons:

Has only 4 channels, no DTS, remote does not work from all angles.
